Snow and the TD25

Ran this old snorter up out of Ferguson, B.C. years ago. As usual, up some mountain in the snow! This dozer was really great at getting out of sticky situations with that hi/lo track selection. Always took me awhile to remember to switch sides when backing up! (anyone who has run these will know what I mean. I was dragging an Atco up to the mine - 5,300 ft. elevation, may be why she ran black up there, or maybe just the turbo dragging?:beatsme

Yeah, that two speed steering system is out on its own, I spent a fair bit of time on 25B/Cs and 20 E and loved that system Dressta still have it on most of there machines today. Like u say was real handy getting out of sticky situations. Cheers RDG.

Yep, I gotta confess, having run lots of D-8,9's the 25 would outpush the D-8 on an uphill grunt because you could steer them with a full blade and the old 8's would just spin a track, which always proved a bad thing on the side of a mountain with very narrow roads! (love the cats though!) Not a heck of a lotta snow in your neck o' the woods is there RDG? You're welcome to some of ours!

I have run my 25g in the snow several times, and yes backing up switching from hi to low to turn can be a trick for the first time or too because its opposite for left and right. It also gets interesting when climbing up a frozen hill and turning with one in hi and one in low and you get turned sideways ,they can sure slide like you are on skates.

Yeah! no snow down here comming into winter glad to see the temp go down, next couple of months are usually the best, not much rain temps in the hi teens to lo 20s, good to get away from the 30s and 90% humidity that we get in the summer, u dont have to be doin anything and u still get a sweat up, its good then to be able to come home to a swimming pool and cold beers. Cheers RDG.
