SV250 no crank

w3grant · 2021-01-07 22:45

Working on a SV250 door was left off and fuse panel got wet. Now machine will not start. When I turn power button on the 3 other push buttons just keep flashing. I am completely unfamiliar with case equipment. Thanks

Dumb question, did it start ok before it got wet. Check fuse panel for blown fuses, would be obvious next step. What other buttons are flashing. Does it crank, or is it a crank but no start

Yes it was running. I check all fuses. And replace battery. The power light stays on. The operate light blinks.

You could check to see if there is a seat sensor, it wont allow ignition to happen unless seat is occupied. If it works, it probably controls a relay, try and find relay, swap out relay with known good one, or with another one close by. Relays are usually with fuses.

As stated above... Does the motor turn when you hit the start button?

No it does not run or crank.

You've got that backwards, it doesn't crank, therefore it cant run. Is there an audible tone when you sit in the seat, i believe that is the seat switch being activated.

The seat switch turns the display on, the display turning on causes the beep. The fuse panel on these machines is in a terrible location. On my sr200, We had this no crank issue twice. Once was a fuse, second was the main display. Last issue i dealt with was the key switch not receiving 12v which killed all power to the machine. Found a bad crimp where 3 wires go into one. If you have a dealer or another machine handy try swapping the displays and see what happens. Have to tried to jump the starter to see if its gone bad?

Sorry for the confusion ArnyL. It doesn’t crank. But when you sit in the seat there is a audible tone. And that is it.

If your sure you checked all possible fuses related to start circuit. You could, as suggested by Aaron, jump starter at solenoid, just to eliminate it as possible problem. Then you would know if starter is ok. Or you could find Starter relay, remove relay and jump no 30 to 87, i believe, Diagram on relay. And kill 2 birds, relay wiring to the starter, and starter it self. Keeping in mind, the initial problem of water on panel, which may have caused a problem or is just a coincidence. If you can get it to crank from relay connector, then you have to see if your getting 12v power from ign. sw to relay connecter. Not sure what your capable of, but the idea is to work backwards from starter, until you get to the ah ha moment.

I jumped the relay out and got the machine to crank. Call Bob my fuel pump or solenoid is in allowing it to start. Next I need to find that relay and possibly jump that out just to get it moved off of the jobsite into a shop. This being a 2012 Does this have a computer and ECM? I don’t know if I am getting too far involved Not having any manuals for it. Cause I really appreciate all your help thank you very much.

Sorry i was a little unclear about your messege about fuel pump. Dont worry about that yet. If you can jump relay and make it crank, then starter and wiring is good. In same relay socket, check terminal 85 and 86, one should be a ground, and one should light up when starter button is pushed. You might need a helper to push start button and you check for 12v with test light. If you don t get 12v, then your have to look at ign. sw or button. It may not be getting power because the display board is faulty like Aaron had suggested. The other start lock out could be lap bar switch. Or it may only control hydralic functions, would it start normally with lap bar up. If so, its not an issue.

I checked power and found that 2 relays were upside down. Customer pulled relays and forgot to tell me. Thank you guys very much your a life saver!

  14. #14Arny L2021-01-10 15:29

Not sure what you mean by upside down relay. Why would some one pull relays

  15. #15Aarons812021-01-10 22:33

They should only be able to go in one way.....? But if its running...its fixed!!!

  16. #16Arny L2021-01-10 23:15

Maybe it meant 2 relays on the ground lol,

Ok, I get it now, your customer thought he was safe quarding your machine, and pulled out srart, and fuel relays. Makes sense now. You ll have to tack on a mental service fee, for that little stunt, even tho it was well intended. Glad its going
