We just got a Hitachi 120-3. The controls are reverse from the Cat E120 we also have. Can the controls be swapped and how can we do it.
Welcome to HEF partsman451 …….. Check outside under the bottom of the cab floor there will be a panel to remove behind that should be all of the Pilot lines for the joy-sticks …… you will find that they are probably colour coded (marked) with plastic rings on the hoses where they are joined together in the centre via JIC Union ftgs …… you will have to identify which lines do what ….. to change the pattern you will be changing 4 lines, 2 for the stick and 2 for the boom ….. you may also find that 4 of those hoses don't match already, someone may have already changed the pattern, that would make things real easy for you then (because you did not post from which pattern you have and want to go to "SAE or ISO"/CAT or JD) ….. MAKE A DIAGRAM before you remove any lines so you have something to fall back on Let us know how you make out ! …..Cheers
Good day Partsman451 If you visit excatech.com you can find a PDF file with information how to do this task. Kind regards Uffex
A few, actually many years back we had a new Kobelco excavator and it came with two or three sets of decals for the control and instructions on which hoses to move where to do just this. As it was the only excavator we had at the time we never gave much thought to it.
