Tata Hitachi Ex 200 LC

AS we were in the market for a new excavator in the 20-22 ton class we tried and tested a fews excavators (jcb js 220 lc , hyundai 215 and tata hitachi ex 200 lc ) . After testing all of the said machines the jcb was the first one out , it was heavy on fuel , was a bit unstable and was mostly used in a high power setting . The pros was that it had the best cabin layout . The second one to go out was the Hyundai 215 R , the only reason why it was not taken up was doubt over spares . We finalised the Tata Hitachi Ex 200 LC as it was easy to maintain , it has the cummins engines that every good mechanic in India is familiar with , spares are easily available both with the company and in the open market , minimal use of electronics as most of the time these machines are used by un-educated operators which are not very familiar wit electronics . Would be posting more details and media with the machine along with a Dameo hydraulic hammer . The video of the machine getting delivered .

New 2017 machine with 1990 design? Tata hitachi should really use ex200-5 design..

They would not change a thing in this model , and they should not . You see this machine is the back bone of India infra market , most of these equipment are owned by big companies and are run/operated by uneducated folks . These operators have learned on this particular model and are so well versed that they can almost rectify any problem by them selves . You have spare parts available even in the remote areas . That is the reason why this particular model os kept the same with only a few changes being made to improve it , only some changes were done in the new super series .

Now, why can't we get this machine!? I love the fact that some people have said " no, we can't understand or work on electric techno stuff, better give us tried and tested stuff we understand" and voila! These simple strong machines are still made. Seems like there's enough simple folks like me saying same line here, but the answer is "No, techno wizardry for you, boy-oh, and more of it next year. Don't worry, we'll send out a tech with the laptop while it's under warranty." Glad someone somewhere is getting what they need! Looks a fine new machine you have there, rajjaiswal.

Absolutely , why fix something which is not even broken . The consumer should be the last one to decide what he wants or does not want . We have great products like the Volvo 210 but it does not do very well in the market because of all the electronics . If you need all the data that a modern machine gives you then you can just ask the hitachi guys to fix a module . Thanks for the good wishes .

We had to purchase a hydraulic hammer for our machine , we went ahead with the daemo alicon b210 breaker . The hammer had a defective chizle where it melted after a brief use of 20 mins , the second one was much better and is doing the work well . Posting a video for your reference please suggest and point out any points in how we should use a hammer

Please find and study the operator and maintenance handbooks for your machine, to get the most from it particularly filter changes on hammer circuit. The tracks look very tight in your movie. Thanks for sharing the movie, it looks like a super machine.

Update - Since the last time i have posted here , the excavator has done almost 80 Hours now , it has returned an average fuel economy of 13 LPH in a mix of bucket and hammer function.

Did you take any recent pictures of it on a job? All the best.

With the hammers, make sure they are greased while they are standing up with weight on the moil. At days end they should be parked with the hammer standing up right not lying on the ground. Its good to see old school machines are still made.

The excavator has done some 150 hours now posting a small video of it loading a tipper . The tipper is made by TATA , the name is LPK 2518 .

Tones, the company Tata had some kind of deal with Daimler Benz in the 50's through to end of 60's, you can see the MB "look" in their commercial product line up, even the numbering is similar.

I can sat for sure it is not a copy of anything. They have been developed in India and have been working from a long time now. TATA did have a collaboration with benz for sometime in the past . Now Benz is in India with its own brand named as Bharat Benz .
