Just wonder how many Terex dozers are out there still working in Australia? Have a 8240 here still going strong on farm work mainly contour banks.
Hey Browny My brother picked a 8230B a while back. I wouldnt says shes work ready but will be when we get a few spare weeks to go over it and sort a few issues.
Not Australia… but how about a Canadian? This old girl is actually a Euclid C6 (re-badged as a Terex 82-30). 1964 model.
Looks not too bad by photos. Keep her going if you can.
Good luck. If it’s in reasonable shape and your undercarriage isn’t worn out well worth getting going.
Have new (old stock) front idler/track tensioner for the overtight side. Have a nitrogen set up, but…seems the grease side seems to fail more often. Fairly new Berco chains/rails…. Newish dozers this size are extremely expensive in Canada (I suspect Australia) as well. So as long as she keeps pushing, will keep going.
Hopefully this will help help your inspiration if it ever lacks. And welcome to the forum
For an old time Cat guy that sound would be the most difficult transition.
Good hearing protection goes fair way
Tensioner cylinders need to be in top order. I’ve replaced the piston o’rings with another type of seals to stop that grease bypass.
Have to come over when that’s on.
This year was the final show unfortunately. I don't have any idea it it will continue at another site but 65000 visitors at this years show says something. Where about in Oz are you.
North West NSW
Wheels at Wanaka was a bloody awesome show. Have been to every show they had. But the 2025 show was super spectacular, even tho weather was ****. There will be another show. . .sometime. .somewhere. Lots of storys abound. Bottom line is too much gear here parked up waiting for another show Euclid 16TDT working at show
Under carriage isn't great but it has some life in still. It has been converted to D8H track gear so that's a bonus
I might be a bit biased but when Terex in their later years of dozer production making the 8220B 8240 and even 8250 would have made cat dozers look like dinosaurs. Just saying.
Better value for money too
