hello all, looking at some terex ta 40's how are these compaired to other brands, volvo, cat ect. we have found a few good deals on some low hour trucks and we are just curious how they do.. seems they would be good with Detroit Diesel series 60's and allison transmissions(4500) but hows the rest of the truck. Any input would be great! Thanks
The Detroit engine was good, and the Allison transmission good too. Not as good of a ride as other brands and they seem to have more little issues. Just annoying little things. I would check on your local Terex dealer status. Volvo bought Terex truck division, so make sure you still have a Terex dealer nearby. Make sure they don't need any major repairs, as Terex parts seemed to be overpriced, and not a lot of aftermarket parts. So factor that into the cost, if needed. If the price is right, and you have a dealer, I would get them.
