Thanks, the green truck will work just as hard and dependable as it did in 1962, (steel hauling). The yellow truck runs well but the frame is shot, (fatigue and rust). First photo is five minutes after awakening from an undisturbed 11 year nap in a barn at my shop. Every single lightbuld and function still works. Second photo is as presented in it's sleeping spot. Last photo is back of concave cab. Get a look at the "full fenders" comprised of conveyor belting, and rebar........ I suppose ya gotta do what ya gotta do...... Rob

Was the concave back of cab made to accommodate the early rounded front semi-trailers? Can't imagine wanting the trailer that close. Nice trucks by the way.

Hi there. The concave cab rear was brought out in the mid 1950's to allow for pulling the then new 35' square nose trailers and remain under the 50' maximum overall length laws in place at the time. It made for a really small driver compartment with the shortened hood and doghouse in the cab due to setting cab further forward on the frame and tilting the engine to the right to make everything fit. The steering wheel is also 20" as opposed to the 22" that was standard with the B series trucks. Rob

Hi there and thanks for posting. I'd put it to be about a 61, or 62 model. Is it still used? Looks to have been sitting a spell. Also looks to have a tag as opposed to being a twin screw, or the drive axles have been changed. Rob

    Is that a strait pipe?

Looks to be but the engine is probably turbocharged by looking at the dash tag. It wouldn't be very loud but would have a great exhaust tone. Rob

You don't think it would be loud? what engine? we have have a SP on one of our Cat Volvo's and she barks!, especially when you through throw the jake at 2000r's love it.

I have two B models with 673T engines without mufflers and they are not what most would consider loud. The drone is a little too much for me if they were working trucks. The engines running under a pull are louder than the exhaust. One of my other B models with a natural aspirated engine will run you out it is so loud without a muffler. It has a very sharp "rap" to the exhaust. Rob
