The trend of construction equipment industry?

lonkinggroup ยท 2012-06-03 22:17

Take China for example, the market situation for costruction equipment industry is rather sluggish due to the government macro control, and the unsettle of capital and others. And judge from international circumstances, the market is also not very optimistic due to the debt crisis. What do you think of the trend for construction equipments ? When will the industry pick up ? And what changes the industry should do to recover ?

"When will the industry pick up ?" Just as soon as we vote the present clowns out of office and we get the EPA out of our underwear and the rest of this administration out of our bedroom. This is Jimmy Carter all over again; I've watched this pendulum swing before. Unfortunately we needed to have these clowns in control for a short time so that we can teach another generation that socialism and liberalism don't WORK in America. Pain is the best teacher. I can't believe you never ran a grader on a prevailing rate job, so maybe you shouldn't complain about government spending with your mouth full.

It's not often we need to post a reminder of the rules this early in a thread. :cool2 (Bold added for emphasis) Given that the political aspect of this may in fact be directly related to the industry, we'll give it a chance to redeem itself before the (almost) inevitable lock.

As I was reading it digger I reckoned the rules were being bent to near breaking...................... Well the "debt crisis" over here has our construction industry proper fecked and is for some time to come. If history shows anything of use it is that in of no matter which get in each is as bad as the other and all looking out for them selves. I could rant on for ages about the mess here and the how our incompetents are stripping us to pay for the mismanagement of the banking system. I honestly feel that my next job will not be in little ole Ireland........................... So count yourselves lucky......................................

i think everyone feels somewhat pessimistic about the situation. here in the u.s.a we do have an election coming up and it will make a huge difference for our industry. how much longer can small business really hang on? i know lot's of people that are thinking about coronas and tecates and the answer may be somewhere south of the border. it has been a tough few years and i think the old timers have seen this before, maybe not as bad. but we can still learn from the old .arts after all. regards,cd

Thing will get better. No matter how bad we are regulated and bogged down by the gov. the human spirit to progress can't be held back. There is a silver linning in this economy and that is it has taught a lot of use how to become more efficent and find new markets to move into.

Been there, done that. It's not what it seems, at least for me it wasn't. Great place to visit but I don't want to live there anymore. That life comes with a whole new set of rules, regulations, frustrations and down right thievery. I am not talking about petty crime thievery either, the gov'ts of Central America make the US gov't look like a free trade zone..:cool2 Back to the topic. What I see is the equipment industry being hit with a double whammy here in the US. Demand is low for new iron for the most part, all the while the Manufacturer's are having to re-tool engines and machines to meet the new Tier standards. This regulation is driving the cost of new iron out the roof, which couldn't happen at a worse time, IMO. The bright side is used equipment will hold it's value if not appreciate substantially as the contractors can't afford the prices of new iron, hold on to what they have and what they know how to work on. The few small companies out there that are buying iron will start looking towards good used iron that doesn't come with a shocking price tag or cumbersome emissions systems. My $.02, soon to be $.05 with inflation... (Inflation is coming whether we are ready for it or not ) On the flip side Cat is building a new excavator plant in Texas and expanding other facilities around the US. Maybe they know something we don't?:beatsme Right now what our economy needs is less regulation, less taxation and for the gov'ts of all levels to get their nose out of our businesses and our lives.:usa

CM1995, you hit it right smack square on the head with your last statement there.

De-regulation is the key to get this mess turned around. An easier tax code and burden would be nice too.
