Thoughts on Hyundai Wheel loaders

Looking to possibly purchase a 2013 Hyundai hl 740-9 wheel loader. Just going to use it for snow removal. Any info on these or Hyundai loaders in general?

I have no personal experience with them but the local cattle feed yards seem to like them. The past several years it seems like most of them have switched to Hyundai's.

We have a 2012 757-9 at our shop. We mostly use it as a forklift/jib crane in summer and snow removal in winter. It has a Cummins engine and ZF transmission and seems to be pretty reliable. I know a bunch of the drilling contractors used them when they couldn't get Deere or CAT loaders during the last boom and you see them now come up for auction with 30,000hrs. I would say if the machine was well maintained and isn't houred out you should be fine.

We have a 757-7. Great machine. Plastics and fit and finish is pretty poor. 13.5k hours. Mechanically good. Check the bucket, ours has worn at least twice as much as a similar vintage Volvo doing the same work. Only recent issue was a wiring problem preventing glow plugs from working and that made the first start of the day in any weather very very very hard.

We bought the 740-9. It's in good shape everything seems to work just fine. It was a Penn DOT machine that loaded salt for some of it's life. Been nibbling the rust of and going to paint it. Bought it at the right price for a somewhat rusty machine.

Hope it works out for you. I am always hesitant about salt or other corrosive used machines as I worry about wiring harnesses, pin connectors etc. Seen some go through the auction yard that were in potash service and yikes.....

Agreed but, all of the plug in connectors were in great shape. We replaced any bad ground wires and cleaned all the grounds. Also replaced all the battery and engine solenoids. Connections were rusty.
