:Banghead :Banghead i have a problem with a mdi yutani md120lc i picked up a little while back. for those of you who dont remember yutani is a kobelco with a realy ugly yellow paint job. and is very similar to a e120 cat. the problem is the people i bought it from installed 2 brand new tong myung drive motors right before i got it $12,000. the story i was told was the operator overtightend the track on one side and cracked the caseing on the hydash drive. i believe them cause i saw the parts from the damaged drive, and even got the still good hydash drive with the machine. the machine has no skid turning power which is ok cause i tip toe it around with the bucket, but also will not climb hills, go through mud, or even go up the trailer ramps. however on flat ground it will walk so fast the tracks chould melt. i mean put you in the seat and hang on tight fast. this problem is the same whether the machine is hot or cold. i think they are 2 speed travel motors stuck on high. there are only 3 hoses going to the motors forward/reverse/return i keep reading about a auto changeing travle motor that uses something called swashplates? the model numbers are tm18vc-a-28/56-fw incase any of you guys are tong myung dealers.
One of my old bosses had a Yutani, you right; it is THE fastest excavator I have ever run.
