Thoughts on towing Tractor, have 2 options Trailer, 10 Ton Tag with electric brakes and pintle hitch , plate list 10K pounds max, and trailer weight in 5500 pounds Tractor, M9540 no loader, weight list 5095 to 6175. Have methanol in rear tires 1997 International 466DT single axle dump with juice brakes (26K limit) 2025 Ram diesel with HO motor, class 5 hitch (20K limit but not with pintle) So have maybe 11,675 with trailer and tractor distributed between trailer and truck
Depends, if it’s for xcountry or local. Personally, I would be using the 466DT. If it was Xcountry I might be using the Ram. Nah, thought about it and the Ram is out.
I'm confused, why would a 10 ton trailer that weighs 5500 lbs only be rated for 10000 lbs?
It's GAWP what ever that is at 10K GVWB is 25,500
That’s Gross Axle Weight Rating
Ahh makes since, thanks GAWR
That's a lot of trailer for a pickup. Is the RAM a 3500 - DRW?
no, 2500 single Hauled the same trailer to IL and back without issue with 2021 Ram 2500. Empty going up, coming back with maybe 2K on it. Truck had no issues. Just wondered about going up to 6K with most weight being over trailer axles. Should look into a Goose neck or 12 to 14K tag
