Cat and Komatsu cemetery somewhere in russia couldnt get to upload the photos here, so heres a link to imageshack: http://profile.imageshack.us/user/ahzarit/images/detail/#401/26samosval82205ad3.jpg
Those rigs could tell some interesting stories if they could talk. Lot of scrap metal there, just waiting to be cut up. Nice looking guard mutt in picture #23.
When do trucks come to an end of life and not worth fixing or rebuilding anymore?
Seen worse trucks running up Scotland Hope the pooch was friendly Ross
I wonder if it wasn't a case of them running out of work due to economic reasons, and that being the reason they were considered not worth fixing?
I think they are on vacation not dead. Maybe just waiting to be rehired.
Nice site and great pictures. wrenchbender you may have to work your magic on some of those rigs, and the ones that are not worthy of the magic touch we can cut up and scrap with one of the shears I run, or let the mighty cutting torch rip through them.
Wrench, I'm sure there is life in those old gals yet but those tires should at least be kept inflated to prevent permanent damage to the tire sidewalls beads and rims. I also reckon they were working in cold climates seeing the winter front on at least one of the trucks (pic 21)
With all the parts there, they should be able to make at least five or six of them run...
That's one of the reasons I thought they might just have been walked away from, for lack of work, rather than that being a parts type yard. At the price of big rubber these days, if the trucks themselves are junk, you'd think the tires would be one of the first things to go.
Welcome to HEF LEGEND! :drinkup Can somebody post some of the pics. The Bossman says "No Imageshack". :bash
You only get one.
It better be the best one....:cool2 Thanks. :drinkup
Thats probably the worst one. All the others were so much better!:stirthepot
Lemme guess.....the others were of the Swedish Bikini Team.
Heres a different link: http://digital-skull.livejournal.com/4572.html has more pictures and its not imageshack. The area these trucks work in is permafrost as far as i know (Siberia)
Nope. Russian bikini team.
Thanks for the link. That works for me. :drinkup Well I'm glad the other link worked so I could see yall was fibbing about the team....both of them.
That darn new guy! :ban Oh wait, He's the one that started the thread. Never mind! Good Thread.:thumbsup
that crazy that all those trucks are parked up, surely scrap them if transmissions or engines are gone, seems hell of alot of money stood there, real shame
This link translates the original link from Russian to English. http://translate.google.com/transla...nal.com/4572.html&sl=ru&tl=en&history_state0=
Even if it sitting there abandonned, it is still worth to have a security guard and dog looking after that graveyard..... Very interresting. Thanks for sharing (and SORRY for digging up an old thread.....each time i come over here, i discover new and interresting threads.) Max.
