Buy a bigger machine..... (apologies for the snarkiness, but you did ask for any suggestions!)

Depending on which inj. pump is on it.. you could "add" some more fuel.?? By nature, they're under-fueled. Some pumps are easier than others to turn-up..

Does the engine have much blow-by coming out of the the breather pipe ? You may have a motor that is in bad need of a complete overhaul.

well my response to buy a bigger dozer is its too late.used all extra cash already.lol.was told motor was recently overhauled.it fires right up one touch of button.its got injection pump with glass catcher on it.on the left corner of pump looks like adjuster screw.the screw isnt touching lever.but looking at it it looks like screwing in would take away throttle.please correct me if im wrong.i havent really investigated it yet.at full throttle its hitting about 2000-2200rpms.

External adjustments are not going to add anything, this is not a carb it is an injection pump where most of the adjustments, changes to fuel delivery are internal. Adding a turbo may get a cleaner burn but won't deliver more fuel and changing the delivery nozzles will not add fuel either. You want more hp the pump HAS to come off, go to a rebuilder to be set up higher, you want to add a turbo you will NEED to add more fuel to get it responsive, will require a manifold change, intake mods, a lot of money you probably would not expect to have to shell out right off. Excessive fuel and at a bad time with the engine lugging back can smoke a piston in a hurry no matter how recent a overhaul if you are not accustomed to backing off the throttle. If it works for now use it as is, finish what you started and then contemplate upgrading to a higher HP machine. That essentially is what needs to be done otherwise penny foolish dollar wasted.

You have a Robert Bosch Type PES injection pump. Thepumpguy can tell you how all you need to know about it. 2350 rpms WOT no load speed and 2200 rpms under load. 750 rpms no load idle speed. Bear in mind adding a turb-charger will add more stress to the engine and drive components. The injection pump may need an overhaul. I would do that before doing to a turbo conversion.

it died today just like i was out of fuel.i took line off and pumped the primer till fuel stream was pressurized.it seems like ive got a little more power under load.i believe ive got asmall leak somewhere causing my fuel pressure to stay weak.getting new filters tomarrow, ill know more then.thanks

Sounds as if the real problem is surfacing on its own.

Don't forget to clean the sediment bulb and the screen that is in it that is mounted on the fuel tank. Make sure you have a good flow of fuel coming out of the tank when you clean the sediment bulb. Blow the lines out when you have the filters off to.

The pump throttle SHOULD BE touching the screw.. your linkage needs adjusting.. not the pump screw. and YES, if you run it IN, it will take away RPM's.. Easiest way to do it is, loosen the NUTS on the linkage rod FIRST.. disconnect it from the pump throttle. Now pull the throttle on the pump to max, where it hits the screw & "mark" its location on the pump w/ a marker.. now let it go.. Next, move the throttle in the cab SLOWLY to full & see where u end up.. now adjust the rod.. Push it back to IDLE & hook it back up to the inj. pump..
