We are thinking seriously about making a purchase of the above excavator, Ser # 3LRxxxx, with the 3046T engine in it & from the research I have done it looks like it was mfg. in Japan. I believe it is a year 2000 with 10,000 hrs. on it & it still seems like a good runner & fairly tight. Can anyone out there running one of these or have knowledge about them, be able to shed any light on the subject? We only intend to run the machine 100-200 hrs. a year doing misc. smaller work & work on our rural property. Thanks, Metalman
Never ran one. Buddy had one. From what I was told 315 with a 320 stick? I know they had to notch out a couple cross members on the tag trailer to get the boom low enough to haul.
We did end up purchasing the machine & take delivery of it next week. It comes with no bucket however as the seller had a quick coupler attachment, as well as all attachments he wanted to keep, so we have to hunt for a bucket. Are the 318 & 320 buckets interchangeable does anyone know?
They are 320 linkage.
On this 318B we just purchased, when sitting in the operators seat, at the back of the RH armrest is 2 toggle switches. Any idea what they are for? When we switched the one toggle, the instrument panel lit up in red for a bit & then everything returned to normal. The machine came with no manual so we are 'feeling our way'.
The toggle switches are an emergency thing so you can move the bucket and arms. Should be some in each side. Atleast that's what I thought they were for.
They are backup switches in case the hydraulic ECM fails. When you switch it to manual from auto it presets the pump output at a lower rate and you control the governor or engine speed by toggling the other switch.
Ok, thanks so much for the information on that.
