Value of L25B?

IceHole · 2026-09-27 15:14

Looking at a Volvo L25B loader, 2010 with about 4500 hrs. 60hp, around 11,000lbs 1 owner, well kept. Having trouble finding similar to compare pricing to. Dealer is saying it's worth around $50k. I'm thinking more around $40k, tops. Looking to replace my S250 Bobcat. Loader specs 14gpm flow. Bobcat is 75hp and 22 gpm. They used the loader for a snowblower and said it worked great, and felt it worked better than same blower on similar skid steer as my S250.

Not a common machine. Three for sale on Machinery Trader of different year and more hours. Ten units sold at auction. Average retail asking is $25,584, average auction $14,493. Hours on the auction units are roughly comparable to your subject. Retail machine hours are nearly double. Subject machine is 16 years old. Do you have a way to get the price of a brand new one today. We can work that value backwards if you wish. Personally I don't see any more than $35K and it better have near new tires, enclosed cab with AC, no leaks and maintenance history.

Serviced at dealer its whole life, stored indoors. Comes with service history, service and parts manual. Yes, cab with heat and A/C. I wouldn't consider an open cab machine for snow removal. It's bad enough WITH a cab and the wind blowing the wrong way!

Not sure age on tires. Original?

Ask the dealer if the timing belt has ever been serviced. Should be at 6k iirc. But it's clearly older than 3 years. Is she turbocharged or NA? Those little deutz 3 cyls run forever. I agree with John C, 35k would be the absolute max. Is it equipped with the web webasto diesel heater? Those machines don't have the best heating system.

Pretty sure it's a 4 cylinder. 35K L48 price means more like 40K here. If I shipped one in from outside, it'd run me 5k easy.

Things are more expensive in AK but the machine is still sixteen years old. You're still looking hoses, seals and all the component problems associated with the age plus just sitting doing nothing. The machine average 750 hours a year. Does that sound right for a machine working snow? Have you checked other brands of machines in the same spec range?

My Bobcat is a 2003 with about 4000 hours. 2010 would be almost the newest thing I own. My excavator is a 2013, and was a rental machine. The loader was used on a property, not commercially. Old man owned. Son is selling for them.

Looks clean. We have an L45 and it is a hydrostatic drive. Engine sits sideways. As soon as you let off the fuel, it pretty much stops like hitting the brakes. It's made for operating attachments. It has 3 speeds, you can dial up and down the travel speed. Adjust the hydraulic flow. Not sure if this would be the same. I don't even think they are built by volvo

Here in BC that looks like a fair deal… Original seat? If so condition is telling. (Looks really good)

That's the worst thing for trying to precisely load material. A local guy has a Case mini loader that does that. I can't stand it.

N ot sure. I have run a few smaller CATs, but it's been years. I don't remember them being odd to run. I think a 906. Mostly have run ~40k+ lbs machines... 724, 744, 980, 988, Volvo 350, etc.

Ours runs off the joystick forward reverse and first second third. No shuttle on the steering column

Going to go look at it Friday. 400 mile trip.

Well, nevermind, sold it from under me. Had agreed to go look at it Friday as they were only available then, allegedly, but then it was sold today, so... yeah....

That's a bummer. I was looking forward to reading your review.

Was kind of a weird deal. Allegedly was the Dad's and son was selling, but they were out of state and having a family friend sell it. That friend was only available certain days (which isn't crazy), and soonest that worked out was Friday. It was my understanding we had a loose deal worked out, I was just going to look it over and shake hands on it baring no issues after testing it and looking it over. Was going to pick it up in a couple weeks, as my truck is down right now. They were going to store in the shop for free, no problem. I'm not sure if someone else was working a deal before and beat me to it, or they got a better offer and suddenly our deal wasn't a deal (which is a **** thing do to IMO)... either way, not how I would have done it. I'd told buyer in line I already had someone lined up, and if it didn't work Friday, they would be contacted. Course I pulled $$ and had to pay fees at the bank for taking out MY own money. They acted like I was emptying out the whole place!
