We have a Volvo A35 and the fuel cap on the machine and the fuel cap that Volvo says it needs don't match up here is the one we have has anybody seen one like this it has the high flow fuel filler on the side of the tank!
I would think it was part of that high flow setup, it's built for a vent hose and I'm thinking I see a float ball that would shut off the vent when the tank was sufficiently full. "Wiggins" comes to mind?

If you don't actually use the Wiggins fast fuel, you can replace that with the standard cap without trouble. Just don't do that if anyone plans on using the fast fuel hookup.
Yeah, that would be a pain fueling the conventional way with the Wiggins cap, never thought of that!
