Trueman98 · 2024-10-12 14:00

Hi Earlier this week I just tipped off a load put it in drive then released the handbrake pulled away like normal then started smelling burning. Got out and seen smoke and flames. Quickly put this out. Anyone know what's happened and how i can prevent this happening again Thanks

You might have to wait until after the weekend until the forum UK-based Volvo lad pitches up. Which part exactly of the town of the Crooked Spire do you hail from.?

Only a stone’s throw from Clowne then, albeit on the other side of the M1.?

Morning all, your only about 30 miles away Truman98 lol. So the obvious thing is the handbrake has stuck on, could be a few things, no fault codes up on the dash? Are you getting air pressure to the park brake chamber, if not it may be the solenoid on the outside right hand side of the cab under the plastic trim panel under the side rear window. (see attached ) it could also be the pressure sensor has failed on the top of that solenoid valve, I've also heard of sticking calliper just holding the pads against the disc creating enough heat. Check to see if you have air pressure first then go from there.
