I am working on a v50c loader. the hydraulics for steering and lift work fine, but try to move and we get no movement. the engine does change pitch so i dont think its electrical. the farthest out pump under the cab has no fluid flow to it, how does it get fluid? is that little pump the one for the transmission?i will get some pictures tomorrow to explain better
The trans has its own fluid supply. Some have a dipstick, some hav ed a check plug. It takes engine oil. There should be a half inch pipe plug in th he rear of the case. You should have oil up to level. Adjust oil level, start and recheck. That last pump is what energizes high low clutch and lube oil.
That pump should be able to prime itself correct? Or do I have to do something to prime it? It was about a half a gallon low on fluid. Topped it off and going to order the front output shaft seal. Its looking like the pump is toast unless I'm missing something.
No, if you follow the suction pipe back it will lead to the trans sump. Yes, its self priming when the engine is running. Those pumps are pretty resilient. Id be surprised if it was hurt real bad. Speaking of your suction hose. Make sure it is not damaged. Any holes, tears , loose hose clamps etc. Will allow the pump to suck air vs drawing oil up from the sump. On the front of your trans, you will find a filter mounted kinda goofy. In the same area, should be a square electrical plug. Unscrew and check terminals. The contacts in that plug like to back out from the harsh vibrations. Good luck and please let us know how things shake out.
we checked all the electrical connections and they where pretty clean. cleaned them and no change. the owner condemned the pump. should be here on Friday.now there is a new piece of info. apparently low range hasn't worked for 3 years on this machine. im just hoping the transmission itself is not cooked.
The plug on the front, that you checked, that is for high/low. The two opposing plugs on the pump itself, closest to the flywheel thats fwd and reverse. Lets start by checking plugs to solenoids for power when requested. Lets at least make sure we dont have a V-ECU problem.
new pump and it moves again. new coil for the high/low plunger and it works now too. its a nice comfortable machine, will be happy to push snow with it soon
Certainly glad it all shook out in your favor. Theres a filter (spin on) beside the trans. Dont neglect that.
