Hey, I have an older W 14C case loader. It was parked a few years ago because of a flat tire, and when I went to get it running again, it wouldn't fire. I know the dangers of using starting fluid, but even with ether, it wouldn't even try to fire. It has plenty of battery juice 24v and is turning over very fast. We put an electric in-line fuel pump on the fuel line, and it has a working fuel pump. When bleeding the injectors, fuel does come out, but only a little and in spurts. We checked the solenoid on the injector pump, and it is working. The in-line fuel pump definitely gets pressurized fuel to the injector pump. Any ideas? Thanks, Jim
Stuck valves? You may want to pull the valve cover and check
There’s a couple different pumps they use on that engine. If it’s a CAV/Delphi, the metering valve is probably stuck in the shut off position.. If it’s a Bosch in-line pump, the control rack is stuck due to stuck pumping plungers..
The op said it turned over very fast which may indicate low compression/stuck valves but then again, 24v usually spins faster than 12v
