Been thinking for a couple of years of building a small gravel screen box. Have made several plans for various versions. Present developed plans are for a 40 degree sloped screen deck. Bottom of screen deck would be attached to bottom collection box with bushings and pins ar each bottom corner, this will allow the deck to move up and down above the bottom of screen frame. At the top of the screen frame on each corner would be a spring between the screen frame and top of post raising up from the collection box. A Vibco electric vibrator would be attached to the underside of the top of screen frame to viabrate the screen. Hopefully this will help gravel falling throught the 1 inch square opening so I do not have to shovel off the screen too much. Screen deck length 9 feet. Screen deck width 8 feet, so two 4 feet wide screens. Heavy steel bars under screen cloth to act as a grizzly. Collect box 8 feet wide with a 6,000 lb axle from old equipment trailer to transport and a pintel hitch in front. length of collect box 11 feet. height of top of screen frame 9 feet. Sides of collection box will be enclosed with steel or heavy thick wood to retain screened gravel and keep oversized rocks out of screend gravel. Will use 2 yard loader bucket to dump onto screen gravel. Gravel with rock up to 24 inches. Wondering if the pin and bushings at the bottom of the screen frame were it will connect to collection box will work. Most all screen boxes I have seen have a spring at each corner of screen frame. This is not for major production, I estiamte if it screens a couple hunded yards a year it would be a busy year for it. Any comments will be greatly appreciated.
