I have a CAT 212B FT wheel excavator. For the life of me I'm unable to figure out what the "FT" in the model name stands for! Anyone have any idea?

I fine read the operators manual last night and now that you mention it, looked it up again and there is a reference in the transmission gear selection to "Fast travel" and slow travel speeds so that is actually very likely. Thanks for your help.
