http://www.pittsburghpower.com/meet-dorothy.html Wondering what you guys think of this product? Worth buying?
sounds like the magnet you clamp around the fuel line promising the world and miracles to happen...
Would it not be beneficial to the engine to keep soot from reentering the engine from the egr? You would think this would also keep more soot out of the dpf and would require fewer regen= better fuel economy.
If it worked...look at all those infomercials that promise todo all kinds of miracles for only 5 easy payments of $19.99..if it was so good why dont the manufactures put it on from the beginning or the EPA recommend it or require it....sounds like more junk that wont do what it is suppose to, and you have to wonder if it will do more damage than good...
I don't see how the soot that was in the cylinder when it was generated, if it leaves the cylinder, and is reintroduced again, is somehow OK the first time but damaging the second time either. Not to mention that these DPF engines don't generate much soot anyway, they have to keep it very clean, otherwise the DPF would be quickly overwhelmed. EGR is more than soot, it is mostly carbon dioxide they are after to keep NOx formation down.
Most of the engines I've seen in the past few years have filters for the vapors coming out of the crankcase. What am I missing when looking at this product?
Take all those 'Wonder' products with a grain of salt, someone came up with a hairbrained idea they IMAGINE does something, most times do not. IF all the magic devices a bud had bought would have worked as advertised(although the always state "Could" do) he would have gotten 50mpg on a 7.3 Ford, he only got .3 better after EVERYTHING and best case was probably due to driving differently.
This is an EGR device, not a crankcase vent device.
