Looking for a used plate compactor, so besides the engine what else goes bad? what to look for? looking at a used weber from a rental yard
Usually the belt to the eccentric,not a big deal to change.

In addition to what the others said, also the rubber bushings from the frame to the plate itself.
What else is left?

True. Actually mine has a bent handle.
OK mine has a chunk out of the belt cover and a slightly bent handle. Those plate compactors don't stand up to well to being backed into with a T250...or considering that situation, they do!
What fails?? The operator!
