I have a Clark 75c that I pulled the engine on and among other problems I noticed that the fiber gear was missing over half of its teeth. I was wondering if I could replace it with a metal gear. Thanks!
Fibre gears run quieter than steel gears, otherwise should be interchangeable unless somebody else knows otherwise
Thank you I think I will stick with a fiber gear.
Yes, quieter. Of course steel gears will last longer, but a fiber gear itself has a long lifespan, many miles. Ford used fiber gears on their 300/six engines for ages.
