What kind of engine is in Cat D4H 1991

Thor ยท 2009-05-05 18:30

Hi Can you give me details on what kind of engine my D4H has. Is there any kind of a data sheet on the internet that lists down all the details on my engine ? Can I get a part book and a book that explains how to fix the Dozer ? Is it somewhere that I can load these info down from the web ? Kind Regards Thor

Aftermarket stuff I am planing to purchase some aftermarket stuff, the supplier wants to know what engine is in it. How big is the engine in your cat ? Do you have any data sheet for the engine ? Do you know what kind of fuel pump is in it ? Thanks Thor

    A 1991 D4H has a 3204 in it. Cat never made a 3206.

I'd call your Cat dealer first....the parts or service dept. should be able to give you the basic specs. You can get complete parts/service manuals from them or they can often be found on e-bay. I found this site recently that has basic machine specs....not cheap though. http://www.toughquip.com/~toughqui/CAT-Equipment-Download-Zone.htm

My dealer tells me that the engine is 3204 4 cyl Cat. The diesel processor (not sure if that is the right word for it) has the partnr. 7W2216 do you have any further info on that part (producer, how much goes through that pr./minute)? The pump that pumps the diesel has the partnr. 1W0568 can any one tell me what producer it is, how mouch goes through there pr/minute ? Kind regrds Thor

Serial Number Whats the SN? If it's a 91 model LGP with a powershift the SN should be in the 9DB03900 + range and have a 95 HP engine. Just a wild Guess. Of course if it's a stick shift that won't be true on the SN.

I do not know what is SN My dealer told me that my Dozer is 1988 not 1991 like I thought. It is stick shift. Not LGP with narrow belts and short. Do you know what diesel pump is in it ? Regrds Thor

SN stands for serial number ,and that should be on a tag on the engine . Also sometimes on firewall .or rear houseing. I would think your engine to be 3204 as were the early H series, later went to 3304 as were the D4 E but tourbo was added . Take the former advise and buy a parts book. Regards

It is a 3204. Good little engine. Good place to look for tech manuals and parts books is on e-bay. There is a fellow in Portland, Oregon who has a wide selection in good condition at excellent prices. After you get the books and get into it try machinerytrader.com parts section. Lots of good deals on parts there.
