That is such an interesting blog post! I am writing a case study now about a company that didn't change the oil in their gear case for about five years!! Chunks of gear teeth were disintegrated and the oil was filthy!! Their service provider didn't even notice or check to see that there were contaminants. Thankfully, Konecranes started performing inspections there and they noticed the state of the oil on the first inspection. They had to repair several broken gear teeth and cracks, but the crane is running fine now. Crazy, huh?!
