Does anyone know what type of hydraulic fluid and capacity goes in a Case 450C dozer? I broke the hydraulic line and 1.25" hose on the bottom of hydraulic tank somehow and dumped all the fluid. I just bought this machine and know nothing about it. Not sure what year it is but it says Torque Converter on the engine cover. Any other maintenance info like engine oil type, gear lube, trans fluid etc greatly appreciated Thanks a bunch
right hand side of the machine in the back is a door for the hydrualic valve. When the machine was new there was decal #12 it had the infor you need. But they wanted case TCH fluid for the hydrualics. Same fluid for the transmission, a good 80w90 gear lube for the final drives and a good diesel 10w30 motor oil for the engine.
Thank for the info Rhino! Hoping the decal is still there
Itll be TCH, they used that a lot for some reason. The oil is discontinued ( i have a bucket that'll never get used) The recommendation changed to Case IH hytran if you have a farm dealer handy. Hytran is a high grade hydraulic /transmission oil. It is even being used in diffs now. Good luck!
