Hi, Would like to know maximum hours on a used loader to best avoid. Cheers Rowan
Forget the hours, look at the condition, pins and bushings, cylinders for leaks and bad rods. frame for cracks, makeshift wiring, dirty cab, engine condition. If you aren't a mechanic, hire one to check all the power train. I've seen loaders trashed at 5000 hours and loaders that have been taken care of with 20,000 hours and still working well. What was the application, shot rock, quarry etc. If you like the loader spend some money to get it checked out or you could be buying a new career as a repair shop. Be a little wary of fresh paint, dupont rebuilds can look great. Size the machine for your application, better a little oversized then barely large enough. Last dealer support for that brand is critical. bad dealer, bad service, poor parts available. Hour meters can be changed or disconnected.
/\ perfect... take it to the bank
Thanks oldseabee, Great advice and understand that its not just hours. Will keep in mind
Timber plantation. Extraction resourses and road construction, clearing fire breaks also. Definitly "you cant change the leopards spots", its how the machine has been looked after. Many machines out there!. Thanks again good advice
A fresh paint job looks really nice, but it can hide alot -
