Bought a 1980 04x d6d from a equipment yard-have no service manual-know where oil and fuel filter are located-need to know where to check trans and diff fluids and where the magnets are relating to the trans-any other advice greatly appreciated, Thanks.
transmission fluid level dipstick is behind the right hand inspection door beside the seat, filter cannister is on left front of motor, magnetic screen is under the floorboard on left side mounted to frame rail. holds 24 gallons of 30w. finals hold 5 gallons each of 50w, and that puts the level up to the edge of the filler bung, which is about knee height on the inside rear of the final housing. parts manuals for your serial number are available on ebay. good luck..

parts manual will do about everything you need. for me anyway.. trans oil is straight 30. I actually don't know what the to4 designation is..
The original spec was for a TO2 SAE30 for an ambient temp of between 32 and 104°F, but you probably won't be able to find TO2 these days. TO4 is the latest and greatest incarnation.
