First time having the joy of wrenching on one of these little buggers, I used 2/3 of the curse words in my dictionary... The cheesy hyd cooler push connect fitting popped out on the RH side of the cooler while he was running full throttle, pumped copious amounts of oil straight into the intake, through the air filters and instantly hyd'd the #4 cyl bending the con rod... I pulled the head, removed the rear engine mounts and blocked it up enough to sneak the pan off, wasn't too bad I suppose, took me 4hrs to strip it down, but they sure know how to cram 10lbs o shyte into a 5 lb bag.... The guy only uses it to plow snow for himself, it's got 5000hrs on the meter, she'll be good to go with a new rod/shells and a piston/rings (some skirt to crank contact), everything else looks great other than the cooler fittings... Anyway what's with these junk push connect fittings, just like the HP lines on a 7.3 powerjoke. Why on earth would they not use a normal fitting!! Or atleast provide the poor little Kubota with fresh air from above, not down in a corner ready to receive the oil from this poorly designed fitting... Designed obsolescence is brutal, my other engine job at the moment is a 4-71 in an old Timberjack wheel loader, it's an absolute pleasure to work with compared to this contraption. Enough ranting for tonight haha!
