My backhoe controls are starting to flutter when the oil heats up (warm days). Is this a problem with a fix or normal? Thanks for any info.
It pilot controls? How many hours?
3650 hrs. Everything on the hoe weeps down also and movements seem to be slowing down.
Yes, pilot controls
service the hydraulic system, change oil and filter then check all suction lines for cracks and clamps tight. if problem persists get pumps flow tested, if pumps pass flow test then get system flow tested. I think you will find a tired pump though.
as for ALL hoe weeps down do you mean extendahoe, boom and bucket? the Case backhoe has rather large drift (weep) specs on the extendahoe right out of the box. How is the loader performance? and how is the steering? as these units are priority steering then through loader valve then to backhoe. a faulty relief valve can cause grief which will show its ugly face in a system flow test. good luck hope you find the problem.
Yes, everything on the hoe weeps down. Steering and loader works fine. Is it a big job to change a pump on this model? Also is the relief valve internal or external?
pump not to hard to change, relief valve is in the loader control valve external, there should be a quick connect on the end of the atennuator hose for main relief valve testing. trying to remember if the 08 580 were pump on back transmission or still out front of engine crank? if steering and loader are good then pump and relief might be fine, could be a faulty priority valve but that is back to flow test.
Thank you for the info. Sounds like a flow test will tell what the problem might be.
