yesterday i finally striped the splines on the drive line got a piece of concrete jammed between the tire and machine . about 2 years ago i was adjusting the chains and notice on one side of the machine the sprocket that goes on the splined shaft was getting worn out so i removed the c clip and ran a bead of welding rod carefully trying not to over heat the shaft it seemed to work, now looking at it ,the weld broke and the sprocket spins on the shaft . my question is does there have to be a little movement on the shaft and sprocket or can i try to epoxy it with something like devcon and then weld it on solid i just use it around the yard but sometimes i can get a little rough with it (new shaft and sprocket around 1800.dollars plus install thanks john
