140H Start up issue

I have been using a 140H for plowing snow this winter and when i went to start it up this morning i noticed something strange. After letting the machine warm up for around 15-20 min i started off down the road only to hear a very strange noise coming from the engine compartment / exhaust pipe area. It sounded as if popcorn was popping and at first the sound was coming from the exhaust pipe. After walking around the machine and opening the access panel on the right hand side the sound seems to be coming from in or around the Turbo. The noise was not present when i started up the machine at first, only after i started down the road. There is no loss in power or any warning lights of any kind in the dash. The popping sound lasted for around 10 minutes and then all of a sudden went away. A mechanic was called but was unable to give me a an answer beacuse the sound was no longer present. Anyone have any idea what this may be??

Check your fanbelts. Ive had the covers let loose on fan belts a couple of different times, and thats exactly what it sounds like... popping. The little piece of belt slapping on some componet.... Hope that helps ya.

I had the same problem as grandpa with my old G, my H now has one belt in the front of the engine and have had to replace it 4x in the 3.5 years i have had it, and yes we have checked pullys and such. But this also makes kinda that noise and also what happens is it gets wrapped inside the A/C pully cutting the wires to the A/C clutch. So if this is what you found and you have A/C make sure to check that as well. Good Luck
