When servicing a 570B grader I noticed the drive chains were worn and in need of replacement however I am unsure of how to change them. Is there any special tools or tricks to changing these? I don't have the service manual or anything.
It'll definitely save you time and money to get the service manual cause you know you're gonna have problems in the future too. But in the meantime, I'd say the best bet is to call or visit your dealer and just ask the service manager. It shouldn't be too hard to do. On a Cat, there's access panels on the tandems that you can unbolt and then find the master link on the roller chain, undo it, fit the new chains and seal it back up.
