Hi All, I'm looking to get an excavator for farm use. My budget is $50K or thereabouts. So far it seems 200 class machines are a bit cheaper than 160 class machines. Is that just because there are more of the 200 class? I will only move the machine on rare occasions so either size would be fine. If anyone has a lead on a good machine in the MO/KS areas, please chime in. Thanks, Tom
If you're on a farm, and shipping isn't a big concern, definitely go for a 200 or bigger. It's well worth it for stumping and heavy lifting. See the ongoing thread "cat 315D vs. cat 320D" for more elaboration, it's asking pretty much the same question.
