1830 fluid level

How do I check if I have the proper amount of hydraulic fluid in my 1830 skidsteer? Is there a dipstick or something?

    There is a plug that is located on RHS of rear of machine - shown in pic.

    Its been too many years since I owned mine but I was thinking we took that check plug out and put in sight plug in instead so I could see at a glance what the level was.
