Hello guys My problem is I have forward movement but slow going in reverse. It will go in reverse,but i have to wait a minute or two. I have checked the fluid on the stick under the seat and its clean and at the right level. Is there some kind of screen i should change. It happen slowly. please help my knowledge of the machine is limited but i think i can do it it's been good to me thanks in advance JOE.....
For clarification, if it's a 1977, it is a straight 410, ignore the "D". There is a suction strainer horizontally in the bottom of the transmission case, cleaning it may help. It's more likely though if forward works well but not reverse you have some bad piston seals on the reverse clutch and/or the reverse clutch plates are worn out. Also might help to check the shift linkage to make sure it's getting good travel at the valve spool.

Sorry, No. You have to drain the fluid, and it's under a hex head plug, about 1 1/2" or so. The screen is about a foot long so you can probably figure out where it is, or somebody will know...
