Transmission not shifting into any gears after parking it over night. Transmission fluid was low.
Most forklifts have two brake pedals. The left pedal disengages the transmission so you can rev the engine to get more lifting power. This can be done electrically or hydraulically or with air. make sure the brake pedals are returning to the top. Do you have a manual for the forklift?
no manual and it only have one pedal for trans/brakes
From my aged memory, I recall that truck probably has an F and R switch on the direction lever stalk. Which feeds the solenoids on the transmission to set direction. Check battery voltage. Then check the same voltage being received at the solenoids. It is unusual for both solenoids be bad, so more than likely your trouble is in the input FEED TO THE F and R switch (nothing to direct). Switch itself can be defective tho usually you lose only one direction. Been a while but hope this may be of some help.
Any success with adding fluid or testing the direction switching or solenoids ? Hope you have found something to solve.
I haven't able to really mess with it recently. I did look at it today and noticed a wire dangling that looks like it go the the transmission control valve
