I work with a UK charity www.chauncymaples.org which owns a 1984 Grove TMS 525E crane. It is located at Monkey Bay on Lake Malawi. We are using it to renovate Africa's oldest ship into a clinic. The ship has a great future and a wonderful history. We are desparately looking for a service manual or any documentation that will help us to make repairs. Or could any of you provide technical help may be over. We would be so grateful. Mark

That's a tough one....not much info online. Have you tried contacting Manitowoc directly? They own the Grove brand now and should be able to provide all the info you need.

Many thanks for the suggestion. Yes we have and they have provided most of what we need but we would be interested to talk to anyone who has worked on this model of crane or similar and might be available on Skype if we need further assistance.

The beauty of the old grove cranes is that they are incredibly simple. The drivetrain for the most part are the same as you would find in a hd truck of the same age. If you are mechanically inclined and have a basic understanding of hydraulics they're very easy to work on. What exactly needs work on this crane.

Sorry for being so slow replying I am asking our man in Malawi to give some background - he has been away. Mark
