1988 Cat 428 Backhoe: Can anybody tell me what the main purpose is of the electric clutch on the the gearstick i.e. How would it typically be used? I know a guy that never uses it! He uses the neutral on the forward reverse lever instead. Also the E-clutch on the loader stick...How is that typically used, please?
the switch on the gear selector neutralises the transmission to enable selection of the four speed ranges or allow full power to hydraulics no serial number listed different function on some models Mark
Thanks Mark. So presumably you would depress the E clutch switch on the loader stick in a situation where you were loading up the bucket and wanted to stop forward momentum and boost the hydraulics to get some extra lift, and while waiting for lift, you would slip the shuttle into reverse, then release the loader clutch switch again to back up?
Pretty much anywhere you'd use a foot clutch in a gear drive tractor.
Thanks Willie.
