1989 CAT D3C LGP

Hello, Posting on here hoping someone can help us. We have a CAT D3C LGP. We got it last year and it has been great up until the 4 bolts broke on the pivot on the bottom of the blade. We took it to CAT and they replaced the bolts and informed us that there was a center pivot missing. They added this and the first one broke off within 30 minutes of us returning to work in it. We took it back and they welded a new one on and it broke again. Feeling frustrated we welded a thicker one on, a 1 inch plate. We started to test it at the house and it started to break again. Does anyone know what exactly we’re doing wrong? Or maybe has anyone seen this before? We would like to figure out a fix and refuse to take it back to cat just to get the same result. TIA.

That cobbled up mess will never hold, You need to buy the right parts and and have a welder install them. Bob

We tried. We even had the CAT dealer do the work. Looking for insight on what exactly the “right parts” are? Cause the CAT one last about 30 minutes

Take the serial number off the blade in and order the block thats welded to the post and that home made u-strap. The block has a slot in it about the same size as that bushing on the pin. Bob

Ask for your money back from the Cat dealer. Yeah, I know that isn't likely but that looks like something a wannabe welder tried to fix and didn't really have a clue. All they did was create more work which will cost you more money to fix.
