Hello I have a 1989 td15c, it is gaining oil in the engine and the transmission is going down in oil, any suggestions as to why it's coming in through the rear seal?
What's the history on the machine? Has it recently undergone a rebuild or did it just all the sudden start leaching oil? Few things come to mind other than worn seal. If it was a recent rebuild, does it have the wrong seal in it? Piece of metal in the system tore the lip. It's a double lip seal, but if the trans side gets a tear then i suppose it could leak to the engine. This might be a stretch, but collapsed or stopped up oil cooler hose from the bell housing with pressure build up in the housing...
