My skytrak is calling for mil-l-2104c motor oil for transmission. I'm having trouble cross referencing that to what is available today. Someone told me i can use the JD J20c hydraulic and transmission fluid as a substitute. The newer machines are calling for it in the manual. Just don't want to ruin something with wrong fluid. Thanks for any help.
MIL-L-2104-C is nothing more than a standard good old-fashioned engine oil from years ago. Would've been an API CC or CD specification baclk then. Does it specifiy what viscosity should be used..?
10w motor oil
So basically what they are specifying is the equivalent of an SAE 10W hydraulic oil in today’s currency. Back in the day it was common to try to have engine oil do things other than lubricate engines.
ok, thanks for info
