Open cab machine? We keep spare ignition switches for all the cats. Just get your test light out and test it Either that or a safety park position switch faulty, can you jump the solonoids and get it to fire up?

A loose battery cable will do that, or a circuit breaker tripping if you have a short. Multi meter should make it easy to find.

Plz post serial number, have seen quite a few key switch and soleniod problems on them.

Does it lose power when on or crank only?

    it does nothing

closed cab will check safety park position

Does the dash lights and all elec power in the cab go dead when you turn it to start position ?. Jerk the switch out and find the power and run and start wire and touch em all together if still nothing, jump the solonoid on the starter, if it cranks you have a safety switch or a broken wire culprit. I am sure the park switch is just a 2wire you can always cross them to bypass it but the machine won't move until you uncross them. Pj

Hi , I had the same thing on my 2001 d3c hystat dozer. There was a loose connection in the loom ( back of engine behind the air cleaner) that feeds power to the dash. I couldn't turn it off ,had to undo the fuel line, then no start ether. Maybe worth a look?

Do you lose power when you turn the key to "on" or when you turn to"start"? You'll probably need a voltmeter and an assistant. Get a long jumper wire to ground the voltmeter to the battery and have the assistant turn the key off and on while you work your way through the system.
