I'm working on a SS842C that will not execute any boom commands on start-up, but will work almost normally when oil has heated up from idling for 15 or 20 minutes. Then boom works in and out, up and down, except it will not go lower than horizontal, and at just before reaching horizontal, it moves very, very slowly, and engines labors. Anyone with any knowledge or experience with this machine, please offer some suggestions as to what may be wrong, or where to look. Thank you. We are stumped.
I have no experience of this model but will start with the obvious question. What grade of oil are you using in the hydraulic system.?
