Have a 2002 873G bobcat that will not start. It will turn over and smoke a little black when cranking. After pumping the fuel system up and crank it the filter is low like it's not getting fuel fast enough. I replaced the fuel line to the primer ball from tank. Some say it's the timing belt and others say it's a transfer pump. It died when I was fueling it up, i did get it started and moved in the shop. But it will not start at all now. I know there is a solenoid on the fuel pump as well is there any way to check it.
Yes there is but first we must know what kind of shut off it is if it a lever or a plunger both work off power and a ground does it work off a time delay relay like on my Kubota r520 which is a lever shuts engine downwhen key is off . If it is a plunger type you can pull it out take out plunger see if it starts up if it does you will have to hydro lock to shut it off would be helpful too know what engine you are working on but it sounds like fuel problem on must transfer pumps there is a screen some are in the barrel bolt on the inside of pump Perkins uses one on top of pump just one bolt Phillips or straight or 8mm socket one gaskets under cap flat o,ring brass filter underneath cap clean with brake clean
