Hey, I am having trouble with an electrical short I think, my instrument panel is affected(everything on the dash goes dead). Hit the dash and it comes on or goes off. Where do I begin looking for the issue with the instrument panel? (electrical ground for instrument panel). Bought this truck (2003 Mack Semi Truck, E7-427, CH613 model) used, not any manuals available to me. I am a farmer, not a mechanic. Would like to investigate myself, before taking to the truck shop.
I'm not familiar with the Mack dash, but on my KW I'd tip the dash panels out far enough to reach in and start moving wires around to see if I could pinpoint the problem. It's likely to be a bad ground wire.
