2004 John Deere 27C ZTS Mini Excavator – How do I tighten the fan belt?

I don't typically struggle with simple maintenance items like tightening a fan belt, but my 2004 John Deere 27C ZTS Mini Excavator has be baffled. Can anyone provide some insight on how to accomplish tightening the fan belt? Thank you, Bobby

    There should be a jack screw on the alternator. Loosen the bolt that slides in the slot of the alt mounting bracket. Tighten the long bolt that goes in from the side to pivot the alternator away from the fan.

    On my Takeuchis, it helps to have the cab up. You wanna have fun, try changing belts on a TB53FR.

    My problem is getting to the alternator. It's on the other side of the engine. Is using a mirror the appropriate method, or is there access some other way?
