We have a 2005 John Deere (manufactured by Lieberr) 755C Series 2 Dozer that was shorted out while changing the alternator. A wrench connected to the hot lead touched the body panel and within an instant fried the cables. The machine was not switched on at the time this happened. Now, everything operates normally except for the steering control. The machine starts, hydraulics work fine but as soon as we try to move the machine, there is a tick like a safety switch was flipped and the machine doesn't move. All fuses have been checked and only the alternator fuse blew. Two technicians have come to look at it without any luck. The technicians have been unable to connect their diagnostics due to them not having the correct plug. They suggested to replace the foot pedal steering control computer, but at $10,000, I would like to do more investigating rather than spend that money on their guesswork. Apparently, John Deere and Lieberr are having a conflict and Lieberr technicians cannot access John Deere's schematics. Two dealiers have told my stepdad several stories about why they cannot properly diagnose the issue and to me, it sounds like a really expensive runaround. Any advice? If the computer was fried, I would assume other issues with the machine would arise as it moves through its safety checks during startup.
You should be able to get some helb here. But if you find out it is the computer email me [email protected] . maybe I can help
Where are you located? I'm in iowa and have a guy who is fairly knowledgeable about Deere track loaders.
Did you ever get anything resolved with your loader?
