buy one and put it on your self also look at the rest of your motor and why it went. usually there is some other piece to the puzzle to why it went out . ex dirty air filters ran to long and dust the motor lack of oil pressure to the turbo for bearings or broken/cracked intake hoses. there are pretty straight forward and simple to pull off and replace

Is there a guessestimated life for turbos when they are maintained as well as you can? Curious because now I have one with 2700 hrs on it should I start a seperate bank account for it?

It was a used rental machine..turbo was pretty chewed up. It only has 800 hrs though Anyways im just hoping to find a place to find a turbo cheaper then the dealer which is 1500 - 2000k I appreciate any suggestions where to buy one Thanks

turbos can be rebuilt and some times its only 3~400 for just a seal kit installled

look at taking it to a good diesel pump and turbo shop for rebuilding, most likely going to be a lot cheaper, unless it is completely tore up.

T190 Turbo Yea its completely tore up... i think rebuild would be around 1000 plus if possible. Someone mentioned i can use a CK41 instead of the CK27 model i have. mentioned the only diff was a compressor inlet but connects to the stock pipe. Sounds alittle leery to me...but might be an option Any mechanics out there that want to comment? Again my part number is 1G924-17011 the CK41 part # is 1J700-17011

you have to take into consideration that the engine was designed with that turbo in mind from the ground up. other turbos spool faster and slower boost more psi and less. so if you go swapping turbos you may open a bigger can of worms. too much fuel not enough fuel too much air not enough. that being said if you over fuel you risk the chance of washing bearings as fuel will posibly leak down to the pan past the rings from not being burnt. under fueling and you risk the chance of melting down pistons. so do your home work on it you may also try engine rebuilders we used them at my old work and i think we only had 1 issue with an engine from them and they covered it without a hassle
